About Us

Next Chapter Home Advisors was founded by Marin Guerrero, a registered and licensed occupational therapist with nearly 10 years of experience helping individuals maintain independence and safety in their daily lives. Marin has worked closely with patients in a variety of settings recovering from surgery, adjusting to new diagnoses, and navigating changes in mobility—giving her a deep understanding of the challenges families face during life transitions.

Through her work, she recognized a critical gap: families often need guidance and support during the transition from hospital/rehab to home. This inspired her to create Next Chapter Home Advisors, providing virtual home safety consultations that help families prepare their homes for a safe return, reduce fall risks, and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations. Marin’s approach also focuses on long-term strategies to support independence and aging in place.

Through both her professional experience and her personal life—being married to a firefighter—Marin has seen firsthand how the home environment can directly impact safety, emergency situations, and hospitalizations. This perspective further drives her commitment to helping families create safer living spaces.

Marin is committed to empowering families with clear guidance, actionable recommendations, and peace of mind. Her goal is to make the transition home as safe and comfortable as possible, while helping loved ones maintain independence and confidence.

My Philosophy

Women Embracing Smiling

As a mom, daughter, and granddaughter myself, I understand how important it is to feel confident that your loved ones are safe, supported, and able to remain in their home as long as possible.

At the heart of my work is a simple goal: to provide clear, practical guidance that helps families feel prepared, supported, and confident in navigating life's next chapter.

I believe that a safe home environment is one of the most important factors in maintaining independence, confidence, and quality of life.

Through my experience as an occupational therapist, I’ve seen how often families are left trying to figure things out on their own during times of transition—especially when a loved one is preparing to return home from the hospital or adjusting to changes in mobility.

Too often, safety concerns are addressed after a fall or hospitalization has already occurred.

My approach is centered on being proactive rather than reactive.

I believe in helping families identify potential risks early, make thoughtful adjustments to the home, and feel confident in supporting their loved ones safely.

I also believe that with the right guidance and environment, many individuals can remain in their homes longer, maintain their independence, and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations.
